I’ve attached a patch for trunk (reading more carefully may be a good idea) and for 2.0.x. As mentioned earlier in this thread, the patch only solves the problem under certain scenarios, but on the other side makes it not worse for the remaining scenarios, so it may be worth it. The patch includes several test cases for all the scenarios I could think of, including the ones that are not fixed. I’ve marked these test cases with “Ignore”.
